Bio
M-dot (b. 1997, Athens, Georgia) is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Longmont, Colorado. Since beginning his practice in 2016, he has developed a diverse body of work that spans classical atelier-style drawings and portraiture to experimental pop-influenced paintings and photoluminescent mixed-media pieces. His practice is characterized by rigorous academic technique—cultivated at the Umbra Academy of Realist Art (Fine Art, 2022–present) and informed by his engineering background from West Virginia University (Aerospace Engineering, B.S., 2017–2021)—combined with spontaneous abstraction and a commitment to exploring light, color, and material innovation.
M-dot’s work has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions, including his solo show Learning to Walk (2023, Boulder School of Fine Art) and group exhibitions such as Mass Flow Rate (2025, Pancakes & Booze Denver) and Intro to M-dot (2025, Rat House Collective, Denver). His pieces are held in private collections across the United States, and he continues to push the boundaries of realist and abstract traditions, synthesizing classical form with contemporary materials and concepts
